Personal Object Study

Outside of Design Thinking, I had a project where I painted an acrylic portrait of my beloved hydro flask that someone had painted in a beach theme years back. Here is the water bottle in the sun, a bit lighter color than in my painting.
This is the painting I created of my hydro flask, fully in acrylic paint. I used a textured paper to get the acrylic to blend easier. This took many tries to get to where I liked it.
The second part of the project was to personify the object we painted. I chose to digitally draw my hydro flask as if it were a surfer girl to capture the fun essence. This took a lot of trial and error, as I took my time finding what fit the character if my hyrdo flask was a real person. She would be a surfer girl with blue hair. I included small details like her black swim suit to match the lid, the hydro logo on her top, small silver jewelry to match the silver rim of the bottle. This was a fun way to learn digital character design and get the hang of shading and colors.
